Southwest Airlines flight suffers engine failure, safely diverts
(Reuters) - A Southwest Airlines jet suffered an apparent engine failure Thursday after departing from Hollywood Burbank Airport, prompting the Phoenix-bound Boeing 737-700 to safely divert to Los Angeles.
Southwest said in a statement it will reaccomodate Flight 1394 passengers on another flight to Phoenix. The plane taxied without incident to a gate at Los Angeles International airport after landing around 8:15 a.m. PT, the Federal Aviation Administration said.
The FAA will investigate the incident.
