S&P 500, Dow tick lower on Middle East stalemate

June ‌3 (Reuters) - The ​S&P ​500 and the Dow ‌opened lower on Wednesday, ⁠as a flare-up ‌in the Middle ‌East conflict drove oil prices higher ​and cast doubt on a ⁠quick resolution to the ​war.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 86.9 ​points, or ‌0.17%, at the open to ⁠51,220.92. The S&P 500 fell ⁠4.5 points, or 0.06%, at ​the open to 7,605.31, while the Nasdaq ‌Composite dropped 1.1 points, to 27,092.845 ‌at the ⁠opening ‌bell.
