SEOUL (Reuters) -South Korean prosecutors on Sunday said they have requested court approval to detain the head of the military drone unit as part of a probe into former President Yoon Suk Yeol and drone operations in North Korea.

DAMASCUS (Reuters) -Residents reported calm in the Syrian city of Sweida on Sunday after the Islamist-led government declared that Bedouin fighters had withdrawn from the predominantly Druze city and the United States stepped up calls for an end to fighting.
There was no sound of gunfire on Sunday morning, according to a resident speaking from the city outskirts, while a Druze source in the region said there was calm in most areas.

MOSCOW (Reuters) -Russia's defence ministry and the mayor of Moscow said it had downed 142 drones overnight, including 27 over the Moscow region.
The drones were reportedly shot down over a number regions in the European part of Russia, as well as over the Black Sea.

(Reuters) -A magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck near the coast of the Kamchatka region in the far east of Russia on Sunday, earthquake monitoring agencies said, with Russian emergency services watching for possible tsunami waves in the region.
The earthquake struck off the east coast of Kamchatka at a depth of 10 km, shortly after a previous quake, according to the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) data.
