NYSE executive Cassandra Seier passes away, company says

(Reuters) -Cassandra Seier, New York Stock Exchange's head of international capital markets, died over the weekend, a company spokesperson said on Monday, without disclosing the cause of death.

"We are devastated by the news that our colleague Cassanda Seier passed away over the weekend," an NYSE spokesperson told Reuters in an email statement.

Before joining NYSE in 2022, Seier worked for more than 23 years at Goldman Sachs, where she started her career as an operations specialist in 1996, according to her LinkedIn profile.

At NYSE, Seier was responsible for attracting new foreign issuers from outside the U.S., placing her in a revenue-critical role as the bourse continues to compete in an increasingly crowded market.

She was one of the most prominent women leaders on Wall Street, an expanding but still limited cohort.

A graduate of the University of Oregon's Lundquist College of Business and CFA charterholder since 2004, she was also the CEO and president of Women in Financial Markets, a non-profit aimed at elevating women in the sector.

"She was someone who was laser focused on getting a job done but always found time to offer anyone support and to mentor the next generation of leaders," NYSE President Lynn Martin said in a LinkedIn post on Monday.
