SEATTLE (Reuters) - Microsoft plans to announce several pieces of hardware and software related to consumer devices on Monday at an event at its Redmond, Washington, campus.
The Windows maker is expected to reveal a new version of its Surface Pro tablet and Surface Laptop that feature Qualcomm chips based on Arm Holdings' architecture.

MOSCOW (Reuters) - The Kremlin said on Monday that exercises involving non-strategic nuclear weapons that President Vladimir Putin has ordered would be held "in the relevant timeframes" and that this was a matter for the defence ministry.
Putin earlier this month ordered his military to practise the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons after what Moscow said were threats from France, Britain and the United States.

(Reuters) -The U.S. auto safety regulator has closed a probe into more than 100,000 Tesla Model X vehicles after the automaker issued a recall to fix front seat belt failures, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said on Monday.
The regulator said it was closing the investigation in view of the recalls and updates launched by Tesla, adding that it may take additional action in the future, if needed.

BEIJING (Reuters) - China's fiscal revenue slipped 2.7% in the first four months of 2024 from a year earlier, after a 2.3% slide in the January-March period, in a further sign of an uneven economic recovery.
Fiscal expenditure rose 3.5% in the first four months, versus a 2.9% gain in the first quarter, according to finance ministry data released on Monday.
