VIENNA (Reuters) - The far-right Freedom Party has probably won the European Parliament election in Austria for the first time, according to a polling-based "trend forecast" for Austrian broadcasters and news agency APA published when polls closed on Sunday.

Biden, France's Macron reach agreement on using Russian assets for Ukraine Jun 9, 2024 11:51AM

BELLEAU, France (Reuters) - U.S. President Joe Biden said on Sunday he had reached an agreement with French President Emmanuel Macron on the use of profits from frozen Russian assets to help Ukraine.

Asked if the two men had discussed the issue and whether they had come up with an agreement, Biden replied "Yes and yes."

Hamas armed wing says 3 hostages were killed in Israeli operation in Gaza Jun 9, 2024 11:19AM

CAIRO (Reuters) - Hamas' armed al-Qassam Brigades said in a video posted on its Telegram channel on Sunday that three hostages were killed, including a U.S. citizen, in an Israeli military operation on Saturday in which some hostages were freed.

The group did not release the names of those said to be killed, but the video showed what appeared to be three unidentifiable corpses using censor bars over their faces.

SRINAGAR (Reuters) -At least nine people were killed and 33 injured when a bus carrying Hindu pilgrims plunged into a deep gorge after a suspected militant attack in the Indian federal territory of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, police said.

Two killed by Ukrainian attacks in Donetsk and Kherson, Russia says Jun 9, 2024 10:42AM

(Reuters) - Two civilians were killed in Ukrainian attacks on Russian-controlled areas of eastern and southern Ukraine, Moscow-installed officials there said on Sunday.

One man was killed and a woman wounded by artillery fire that hit the town of Nova Maiachka in the southern Kherson region, Vladimir Saldo, its pro-Russian governor, wrote on Telegram.
