Mexico's Sheinbaum taps new agriculture minister

MEXICO ‌CITY, May ​1 (Reuters) - ​Mexican President ‌Claudia Sheinbaum has tapped ⁠agronomist Columba ‌Jasmin Lopez to ‌be the country's next minister ​of agriculture and ⁠rural development, replacing current ​minister Julio Berdegue, her government said ​on Friday.

"Her ‌appointment represents the arrival ⁠of the first woman ⁠to lead Mexican ​agricultural policy," the agriculture ministry said in ‌a statement.
