Magnitude 6.3 earthquake hits northern Japan, no tsunami warning issued

TOKYO, ‌May ​15 (Reuters) - ​An earthquake ‌with a preliminary magnitude ⁠of ‌6.3 hit northern ‌Japan on Friday, the ​Japan Meteorological Agency ⁠said.

The epicentre of ​the earthquake was off the ​coast of ‌Miyagi prefecture at ⁠the depth of ⁠50 kilometres, the ​agency said, adding that no tsunami ‌warning had been ‌issued.
