Magnitude 4.9 earthquake strikes Guerrero, Mexico, GFZ says
Jan 16 (Reuters) - A magnitude 4.9 earthquake struck Guerrero, Mexico, on Friday, the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) said. The quake was at a depth of 10 km (6.21 miles), GFZ said.
No damages were reported so far after the earthquake with epicenter in San Marcos, Guerrero, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said in a post on X, pegging the earthquake to a 5.2 magnitude.
The quake was felt slightly in Mexico City but was not intense, according to Reuters witnesses.
