Magnitude 4.9 earthquake strikes Guerrero, Mexico, GFZ says

Jan 16 (Reuters) - ⁠A ⁠magnitude ‍4.9 earthquake struck Guerrero, ‍Mexico, on Friday, the ​German Research Centre for ​Geosciences (GFZ) said. The quake was at a depth of 10 ​km (6.21 miles), GFZ said.

No damages were ​reported so far after the ‌earthquake with epicenter in San Marcos, Guerrero, ​Mexican President ⁠Claudia Sheinbaum said in a ‌post on X, pegging the earthquake ‌to a 5.2 magnitude.

The quake ‌was felt slightly in Mexico City but was ‍not intense, according to Reuters witnesses.
