TORONTO (Reuters) - Canadian authorities have broken up a large-scale human smuggling ring that they say moved hundreds of migrants illegally into the eastern United States over a year-long period, police said on Thursday.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police said they had arrested four people and issued arrest warrants for four others.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States on Thursday imposed sanctions on Palestinian militant group Lions' Den, the State Department said, in the latest move aimed at those Washington says threaten peace and stability in the Israeli-occupied West Bank.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - New York's electric grid will face supply shortfalls if the rate of retiring old fossil fired power plants continues to quickly outpace the addition of clean new energy supply at the same time demand rises, the state's grid operator said on Thursday.
