CAIRO (Reuters) - The Islamic State West Africa Province has claimed responsibility for an attack on Nigeria's northeastern Borno state that killed at least 26 people, the group said in a statement on Telegram on Tuesday.

Islamist insurgents Boko Haram and ISWAP have been battling Nigerian security forces for over 15 years in the northeast and often use improvised explosive devices to target civilians and security forces.
