Germany indicts Ukrainian over parcel bomb allegations tied to Russia Feb 9, 2026 05:15AM

BERLIN, ⁠Feb ⁠9 (Reuters) - ‍Germany has ‍indicted a Ukrainian national ​in ​connection with allegations of a plot linked ​to Russian intelligence ​to detonate parcel ‌packages in Europe, German prosecutors ​said in ⁠a statement on ‌Monday.

The Russian embassy ‌in Berlin did ‌not immediately respond to a request ‍for comment.

US container imports fell 6.8% in January, but result points to more normalized trade, Descartes says Feb 9, 2026 05:09AM

LOS ANGELES, ⁠Feb 9 (Reuters) - ⁠U.S. ‍seaports in January handled 6.8% less container import volume than ‍the year-ago month, when U.S. companies ​rushed in goods to front-run President Donald ​Trump's tariffs and sent imports soaring to a record high for the month, supply chain technology ​provider Descartes Systems Group said on Monday.

Survivors dispute Greek coastguard account of fatal migrant shipwreck Feb 9, 2026 05:05AM

ATHENS, Feb 9 (Reuters) - Survivors of ⁠a shipwreck that ⁠killed ‍15 Afghan migrants off Greece last week said that the dinghy they were in did not change course or ram a coastguard vessel, contradicting ‍the official account by authorities.

Fifteen people died in the shipwreck off ​the island of Chios on February 3. Two dozen others, including 11 minors, were rescued, some of ​them seriously injured, the coastguard said.
