WASHINGTON, June ‌25 (Reuters) - U.S. ​House ​of Representatives Speaker Mike Johnson said on ‌Thursday he will transmit the housing ⁠bill to the White House ‌following his meeting with ‌U.S. President Donald Trump, an Axios reporter said in ​a post on X.

Johnson's comments come after Trump on ⁠Wednesday canceled a planned signing of the ​bipartisan legislation aimed at speeding up the construction and availability ​of more affordable ‌housing in an effort to pressure lawmakers to ⁠enact the SAVE America Act.

A source briefed on the matter ⁠earlier on Thursday told Reuters that ​Trump and Johnson were expected to have a conversation related to a ‌pathway for the SAVE America Act and also rescheduling the ‌signing ceremony for the ⁠housing bill.
