Hong Kong unemployment falls to 3.8% in August-October
HONG KONG (Reuters) -Hong Kong's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell to 3.8% in August to October, from 3.9% in the previous three-month period, with more distinct decreases observed in retail, food services, superstructure and financing sectors, the government said on Tuesday.
"The solid expansion of the Hong Kong economy, along with the steadfast improvement in business sentiment and the gradual recovery in consumption confidence, should provide support to the labour market," said Chris Sun, Secretary for Labour and Welfare, adding some sectors would face challenges from economic restructuring.
