Hong Kong's November-January unemployment rises to 3.9%

HONG KONG, ‌Feb ​20 (Reuters) - ​Hong Kong's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate ‌rose to 3.9% in ⁠the November to January ‌period, up from 3.8% ‌in the previous three-month period, the government ​said on Friday, with increases mainly in ⁠the insurance, construction and financing sector

"The ​sustained growth momentum of the Hong Kong economy ​should help ‌buttress the overall labour market," Chris ⁠Sun, secretary for labour and welfare, said in ⁠a statement, adding some sectors ​may continue to be under pressure amid their challenging operating ‌environments.

The unemployment rate for October-December, September-November and ‌August-October periods ⁠were steady at ‌3.8%.
