German inflation remains flat at 2.8% in January

BERLIN (Reuters) - German inflation remained flat year-on-year in January at 2.8%, preliminary data from the federal statistics office showed on Friday, in line with a forecast by analysts polled by Reuters.

December also saw a year-on-year increase in consumer prices of 2.8%, based on data harmonised to compare with other European Union countries.
