SINGAPORE (Reuters) -Global stocks rose and the euro firmed on Monday after a trade agreement between the United States and the EU lifted sentiment and provided clarity in a pivotal week headlined by the Federal Reserve and the Bank of Japan policy meetings.

Oil rises as US-EU deal lifts trade optimism Jul 27, 2025 09:09PM

SINGAPORE (Reuters) -Oil prices rose on Monday after the U.S. reached a trade deal with the European Union and may extend a tariff pause with China, reducing concerns that potentially higher levies would limit economic activity and impact fuel demand.

Brent crude futures inched up 22 cents, or 0.32%, to $68.66 a barrel by 0035 GMT while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude was at $65.38 a barrel, up 22 cents, or 0.34%.

Rains intensify around Beijing, 4,000 evacuated Jul 27, 2025 09:08PM

HONG KONG (Reuters) -Heavy rain intensified around Beijing and nearby provinces in northern China on Monday, exacerbating the risks of disasters including landslides and flooding, authorities said, as they relocated more than 4,000 people.

Colossal rain continued to pound the northwestern suburban area of Miyun in Beijing causing flash floods and landslides, and many villages were affected, state broadcaster CCTV reported.

TOKYO (Reuters) -The euro gained on Monday following the announcement of a framework trade agreement between the United States and the European Union, the latest in a flurry of deals to avert a global trade war.

CK Hutchison eyes Chinese bidding partner for $22.8 billion port sale Jul 27, 2025 08:19PM

HONG KONG (Reuters) -CK Hutchison said on Monday it wants a major Chinese strategic investor to join the consortium bidding for its $22.8 billion ports business, after media reports that state-owned China COSCO Shipping Corp may join the group.
