French preliminary inflation at 0.7% in December

Jan 6 (Reuters) - French consumer prices rose slightly less than expected in December, preliminary data from statistics agency INSEE showed on Tuesday.
France's harmonized inflation rate, adjusted for comparison with other euro zone countries, was 0.7% year-on-year in December.
A Reuters poll of 18 analysts had on average expected a rate of 0.8%, with estimates ranging from 0.6% to 1.2%.
