French inflation confirmed at 2.5% in April, highest since July 2024

May ‌13 (Reuters) - EU-harmonised ​consumer ​prices in France ‌rose 2.5% year-on-year in ⁠April, statistics office ‌INSEE said on ‌Wednesday, confirming a preliminary reading ​published late last month and ⁠marking the highest rate ​since July 2024.

The EU-harmonised inflation rate ​in the ‌bloc's second biggest economy accelerated ⁠in April, compared with the ⁠March reading of 2.0%. ​On a month-on-month basis, EU-harmonised prices rose ‌1.2%, also confirming the preliminary ‌reading.
