French final June inflation confirmed at +2.5%

(Reuters) -Consumer prices in France rose 2.5% year-on-year in June, statistics office INSEE said on Friday, confirming its preliminary reading published in late June.

EU-harmonised year-on-year inflation in the bloc's second-biggest economy slowed a little in June from May's reading of +2.6%.

This slight slowdown was due to weaker energy price inflation, in particular for petroleum products, as well as smaller rises in food prices, the figures showed.

However, prices of services accelerated slightly, while those of manufactured goods and tobacco remained stable.

On a monthly basis, prices increased 0.2% in June after a 0.1% rise in May, INSEE said, slightly revising upwards its earlier reading of a 0.1% rise.
