PARIS (Reuters) -French President Emmanuel Macron said he would continue his mandate until the end of its term in 2027, as Macron pushed back at speculation that there could be pressure for him to go if the government loses its confidence vote next month.

"The mandate which has been given to me by the French people, and by no-one else, is a mandate that will be carried out through to the end of its term," said Macron, at a news conference alongside German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
