Japan's real wages down every month in 2025 Feb 8, 2026 06:32PM

TOKYO, Feb 9 (Reuters) - ⁠Japan's real ⁠wages ‍shrank in December for a 12th consecutive month, as nominal pay growth slightly undershot ‍slowing consumer inflation, labour ministry data showed on ​Monday.

Wage trends are among the most important data factors for ​the Bank of Japan (BOJ) to decide the next interest hike, after a December hike of 25bp to 0.75%.

Oil drops more than 1% as concerns about possible US-Iran conflict ease Feb 8, 2026 06:19PM

SINGAPORE, Feb ⁠9 (Reuters) - ⁠Oil ‍prices dropped more than 1% at Monday's ‍open as concerns about a ​possible conflict in the Middle ​East between the U.S. and Iran eased after both countries finished a ​round of talks on Friday.

Brent crude futures ​fell 89 cents, or 1.31%, to $67.16 a ‌barrel by 2309 GMT.

U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude was ​at $62.76 a ⁠barrel, down 79 cents, or 1.24%.

Pro-Palestine protest planned in Sydney against Israeli President Herzog's visit Feb 8, 2026 06:00PM

Singapore bank DBS fourth-quarter net profit falls 10%, misses forecast Feb 8, 2026 05:39PM

SINGAPORE, Feb 9 (Reuters) - DBS ‍Group, Singapore's biggest bank, ​posted fourth-quarter net profit ​on Monday that was down 10% over the same period ​a year earlier, mainly due ​to lower net interest margin.

DBS, which ‌is also Southeast Asia's largest bank by ​assets, said ⁠October-December net profit dropped to S$2.26 ‌billion ($1.78 billion) from S$2.52 billion a year ‌earlier.
