(Reuters) - Boeing said on Thursday the planemaker has updated its workforce training for new hires for manufacturing and quality after pausing it in late February.

Its new hires will now receive 10 to 14 weeks of foundational skills training before moving to the production floor, which is one to two weeks more on average per employee than in the past.

(Reuters) - The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said on Thursday that public health officials are investigating multi-state outbreaks of salmonella linked to contact with backyard poultry.

The CDC said that 109 people from 29 states have gotten sick from salmonella after touching or caring for backyard poultry such as chickens and ducks.

The states with the highest number of cases are Missouri, Texas and Oklahoma.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Three U.S. troops suffered non-combat injuries in the effort to make a temporary pier off the coast of Gaza into a conduit for humanitarian aid, with one in critical condition at an Israeli hospital, U.S. officials said on Thursday.
