Ecuador's armed forces say 17 kidnapped soldiers freed

(Reuters) -Ecuador's armed forces said on Wednesday that 17 soldiers who had been kidnapped were freed after three days in captivity.

The troops were part of a convoy delivering food to families in the Sierra Norte region to prevent shortages, the military said in a statement.
