Ecuador prison director killed, 1 wounded

Quito (Reuters) - The director of Ecuador's Penitenciaria prison was killed on Thursday and one other person was wounded in an armed attack in the streets of Guayaquil, the South American country's prisons agency said in a statement.

Maria Daniela Icaza was the second prison director killed in Ecuador this month, as violence against municipal officials has been increasing.
