EU sanctions Israeli settlers, expands sanctions to Hamas' Politburo members

BRUSSELS, May ‌28 (Reuters) - ​The ​EU Council on Thursday imposed ‌sanctions on four entities ⁠and three individuals for ‌abuses against Palestinians ‌in West Bank, it said in a ​statement.

The list includes what the ⁠EU Council called extremist Israeli settlers ​and organisations that support them.

In a separate ​statement, the ‌Council said it would also broaden ⁠the scope of the EU's sanctions on ⁠Hamas and the Palestinian ​Islamic Jihad to also cover members of Hamas' Political ‌Bureau (Politburo) who promote, defend, or justify ‌acts of ⁠violence.
