EU opens antitrust investigation into Denmark, Sweden's funds to postal services
BRUSSELS (Reuters) - The European Union said on Friday it has opened an antitrust investigation into capital injections granted by Denmark and Sweden to their national postal operators PostNord and Post Danmark.
The EU executive said in a statement that it "has concerns that the capital injections may not have been carried out on market terms."
It said it will look into parameters such as the growth rates assumed for the mail and logistics markets, as well as the financial impact on PostNord of a potential bankruptcy of its subsidiary Post Danmark.
