EU border agency boat sinks off Megisti
March 16 (Reuters) - An EU border agency vessel sank on Monday off the easternmost Greek island of Megisti, injuring four of the five people on board, Greek authorities said.
The boat was carrying four Estonian nationals, including Estonia's ambassador to Greece, and one officer of the Hellenic Coast Guard assigned to Frontex, the EU border agency. All five were pulled from the water by coast guard units and a passing catamaran and taken to the health centre on Kastellorizo.
The four injured passengers were later airlifted by a Greek Air Force Super Puma helicopter to a hospital on Rhodes. The cause of the incident was not immediately clear.
