Deere names insider Brent Norwood as finance chief

May 1 (Reuters) - Tractor ‌maker Deere ​on ​Friday named company insider Brent Norwood as its chief financial officer, ‌following the departure of long-time finance chief ⁠Joshua Jepsen in February.

Norwood, who was most recently the ‌vice president and ‌finance director for Deere's Construction and Forestry division and John Deere Power Systems, will ​take up the role effective May 1, the company said.

A Deere veteran of ⁠more than two decades, Norwood joined the company as a programme ​manager and has held roles across global marketing operations, corporate business development ​and investor relations.

The 44-year-old "is ‌a proven leader with deep financial expertise, strong strategic judgment, and a ⁠disciplined approach to capital allocation," chairman and CEO John May said in a statement.

Deere has ⁠been among several major U.S. industrial firms hit by ​President Donald Trump's tariffs on import of raw materials, although some of those tariffs were struck down ‌by the Supreme Court in February.

After Jepsen's departure, Deere had named Ryan ‌Campbell as interim finance chief. The company ⁠is expected to ‌report its second-quarter ​earnings later this month.
