(Reuters) - Ford is recalling 242,669 units of its 2022-2024 Maverick vehicles over the failure of rear tail lights to illuminate, causing it to reduce the vehicle's visibility, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said on Wednesday.

UK police officer charged with showing support for Hamas May 1, 2024 05:26AM

LONDON (Reuters) - A British police officer has been charged with a terrorism offence for allegedly publishing an image in support of Hamas, a group banned in Britain as a terrorist organisation, police said on Wednesday.

Mohammed Adil, 26, from Bradford in northern England, was arrested last November and charged following an investigation by British counter-terrorism officers, Counter Terrorism Policing North East said in a statement.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris visits Florida on Wednesday to denounce the state's six-week abortion ban that takes effect on May 1, and will accuse Republican opponent Donald Trump of being responsible for it.

Russian guided bombs kill two in Ukraine's Kharkiv region, governor says May 1, 2024 04:53AM

KYIV (Reuters) - Russia attacked the Kharkiv region in northeastern Ukraine with guided bombs on Wednesday, killing at least two people and wounding two others, the regional governor said.

The two people were killed when a car was struck in the village of Zolochiv, where a private home was also hit, governor Oleh Syniehubov said on the Telegram messaging app.

Investors wait to see Red Sea in shippers' Q1 numbers May 1, 2024 04:50AM

(Reuters) - European shipping firms Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd are unlikely to get a big boost from soaring freight rates due to the Red Sea crisis in the first quarter, reinforcing worries about overcapacity in the long run.
