Clay valued at $7.1 billion in latest funding round as AI agent startups run hot
Sept 9 (Reuters) - Software startup Clay, whose AI tools help automate sales and marketing tasks, said on Wednesday it raised $115 million at a $7.1 billion valuation, more than twice as much as it was valued a year ago, as investors pile into companies developing AI agents.
The New York-based company, whose customers include Google and Anthropic, develops AI agents that analyze business data to help sales teams decide what to do next and execute those actions.
Here are more details:
• The Series D funding round was led by Wellington, with participation from Sequoia, StepStone, Andreessen Horowitz and Perennial among others.
• "AI is unleashing the biggest wave of company creation in history, and Clay's goal is to be the engine those companies use to grow to their full potential," said Kareem Amin, co-founder and CEO of Clay.
• "We started by aggregating the best data for B2B companies. Then we built the infrastructure to run any personalized campaign on top of it. Now we're building agents that can help grow your company for you," he added.
• Founded in 2017, Clay was valued at $3.1 billion in August 2025 when it raised $100 million in a funding round led by CapitalG.
