Oct 29 (Reuters) - Cheniere Energy reported a rise in third-quarter net income on Thursday, helped by robust demand for liquefied natural gas (LNG).
The Houston, Texas-based company posted a net income of $1.17 billion for the quarter ended September 30, compared with $1.05 billion last year.
Its LNG revenue was at $6.1 billion in the quarter, compared with $4.3 billion a year earlier, while regasification revenues remained flat at $34 million.
The US is the world’s largest exporter of LNG, shipping 15 billion cubic feet per day (bcfpd) of the supercooled fuel in 2025, up 26% from 2024, according to the US Energy Information Administration.
Commercial activity in the LNG sector has gained further momentum after U.S. President Donald Trump lifted a moratorium on new LNG export permits after taking office last year.
