Canada's Ivey PMI shows activity decelerating in January

TORONTO, Feb ⁠6 (Reuters) - ⁠Canadian ‍economic activity expanded at a slower pace ‍in January as a measure ​of employment dipped, Ivey ​Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) data showed on Friday.

The seasonally adjusted index edged down ​to 50.9 last month from 51.9 in ​December.

The Ivey PMI measures the month-to-month variation ‌in economic activity as indicated by a panel ​of purchasing managers ⁠from across Canada. A reading above 50 ‌indicates an increase in activity.

The gauge of employment decreased ‌to an adjusted 51.1 from ‌53.0 in December, while the prices index was at 64.8, up ‍from 63.2.

The unadjusted PMI rose to 47.0 ⁠from 43.3, marking a three-month high.
