Brazil's Lula to discuss education, health programs in Monday evening address

BRASILIA (Reuters) - Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva will speak to the nation on Monday evening in a televised address that will focus on education and health programs, according to a statement from his office.

The two-minute address is expected to start at 8:30 p.m. local time.

Lula, as the leftist leader is known, will discuss cash payments to students in poor families that are designed to promote school attendance, as well as a program that provides free medicine.
