Kremlin says EU plan to take revenue from frozen Russian assets is still theft May 22, 2024 06:20AM

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russia would regard the seizure of revenue from its frozen assets in the European Union as a violation of all norms of the global economic system, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday.

EU countries have formally adopted a plan to use windfall profits from Russian central bank assets frozen in the EU for Ukraine's defence, the Belgian government said this week.

Futures muted as Nvidia results, Fed minutes to test Wall St's record run May 22, 2024 06:09AM

(Reuters) - U.S. index futures were subdued on Wednesday as investors zeroed in on the week's biggest events, AI chip leader Nvidia's quarterly results and the Federal Reserve's policy meeting minutes due later in the day.

All eyes will be on whether semiconductor bellwether Nvidia's first-quarter results, due after market close, can meet the market's sky-high expectations and sustain a rally in shares of the company and other AI-related stocks.
