PARIS (Reuters) - Veterans and world leaders will meet in Normandy, northwestern France, on June 6 to mark the 80th anniversary of the 1944 D-Day landings, when more than 150,000 Allied soldiers invaded France to drive out the forces of Nazi Germany.

Eighty years later, Normandy's beaches and fields still bear the scars of the fighting that erupted on D-Day, history's largest amphibious invasion.

MOSCOW (Reuters) - The Kremlin said on Friday that Donald Trump's guilty verdict showed that all legal and illegal means were being used in the United States to get rid of political rivals.

Sudan at 'imminent risk of famine', UN aid chiefs warn May 31, 2024 06:30AM

GENEVA (Reuters) - The people of Sudan are at "imminent risk of famine", United Nations agencies said on Friday, more than a year into a war between the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

Nissan paid ex-operations chief $3.7 million over departure May 31, 2024 06:29AM

YOKOHAMA, Japan (Reuters) - Nissan Motor paid former Chief Operating Officer Ashwani Gupta $3.7 million in compensation following his sudden departure last year, the Japanese automaker disclosed in a notice for its annual general meeting.
