hhgregg (HGG) Tops Q1 EPS by 3c; Comps Fell 6.3%

hhgregg (NYSE: HGG) reported Q1 EPS of ($0.32), $0.03 better than the analyst estimate of ($0.35). Revenue for the quarter came in at $441.1 million versus the consensus estimate of $445.99 million.

Comparable store sales decreased 6.3% compared to the prior year first quarter. This was a 370 basis point sequential improvement compared to the comparable stores sales decrease of 10.0% in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2015.
