XM Satellite Radio (Nasdaq: XMSR) announced that it added more than 285,000 new net subscribers during the third quarter of 2006 for a total of more than 7.185 million subscribers.
The third quarter results are consistent with the company's previously- stated guidance that it will end the year with total subscribers between 7.7 million and 8.2 million.
(Starting in the third quarter of 2006, XM no longer includes certain rental car fleets (approximately 20,000 subscriptions) in its subscription total)
