Walgreen Co. (WAG) Announces 13.4% in February Sales

Walgreen Co. (NYSE: WAG) had February sales of $4,302,310,000, an increase of 13.4% from $3,794,742,000 for the same month in 2006. Sales in comparable stores (those open at least a year) rose 8.6%.
February pharmacy sales increased 14.3%, while comparable pharmacy sales increased 10.0%. Total prescriptions filled at comparable stores increased 5.7%. Pharmacy sales accounted for 64.4% of total sales for the month.
Comparable store front-end sales increased 6.1% during February.
