Walgreen (WAG) May Comps Up 9.8%
Walgreen Co. (NYSE: WAG) said May comparable store sales (those open at least a year) rose 9.8%. Total sales rose 14.8% to $4.13 billion.
May pharmacy sales increased 16.6 percent, while comparable pharmacy sales increased 12.1 percent. Total prescriptions filled at comparable stores increased 6.7 percent. Pharmacy sales accounted for 65.2 percent of total sales for the month.
