Walgreen Co. (NYSE: WAG) said July sales in comparable stores (those open at least a year) rose 9.7 percent.
July pharmacy sales increased 18.2 percent, while comparable pharmacy sales increased 12.5 percent. Total prescriptions filled at comparable stores increased 7.4 percent. Pharmacy sales accounted for 65.5 percent of total sales for the month.
