WAG Relased Same Store Sales

Walgreen Co. (NYSE, Nasdaq: WAG) had January sales of $3,465,760,000, an increase of 14.3 percent from $3,031,114,000 for the same month in 2004. Sales in comparable storesrose 10.0 percent.

January pharmacy sales increased 15.4 percent, while comparable pharmacy sales increased 11.9 percent. Total prescriptions filled at comparable stores increased 8.3 percent. Pharmacy sales accounted for 65.1 percent of total sales for the month.
