The TJX Companies (TJX) Reports Increase in August Sales

The TJX Companies, Inc. (NYSE: TJX) reported August 2007 sales results. Sales for the four-week period ended September 1, 2007, were $1.4 billion, up 7% over the $1.3 billion achieved during the four-week period ended September 2, 2006. Consolidated comparable store sales for the four-week period ended September 1, 2007, increased 4% over last year.

For the 30 weeks ended September 1, 2007, sales reached $9.9 billion, an 8% increase over last year's $9.2 billion. For the 30-week period ended September 1, 2007, consolidated comparable store sales increased 4% over last year.
