TJX Companies (TJX) Reports 6% Increase in Sept 2011 Sales

The TJX Companies, Inc. (NYSE: TJX) reported September 2011 sales results. Sales for the five-week period ended October 1, 2011, were $2.2 billion, up 6% over the $2.1 billion achieved during the five-week period ended October 2, 2010.

Consolidated comparable store sales for the five-week period ended October 1, 2011 increased 4% over last year.

For the 35-week, year-to-date period, consolidated comparable store sales increased 3% over the same period last year. For the 35 weeks ended October 1, 2011, sales reached $14.6 billion, a 6% increase over the $13.8 billion achieved in the same period last year.
