SKS Announces 0.3% Same Store Sales Increase in April

Retailer Saks Incorporated (NYSE: SKS) announced that for the four weeks ended April 30, 2005 compared to the four weeks ended May 1, 2004, total sales decreased 1.2% and comparable store sales increased 0.3% on a total company basis. By segment, comparable store sales decreased 5.4% for SDSG and increased 7.1% for SFAE for the month. Sales below are in millions and represent sales from owned departments only.
