Ross Stores (ROST) Reports Comps Grew 5% in May

Ross Stores, Inc. (Nasdaq: ROST) today reported that sales increased 9% to $614 million for the four weeks ended May 29, 2010, up from $564 million for the four weeks ended May 30, 2009. Comparable store sales for the month grew 5% on top of a 4% gain in the prior year period.

For the 17 weeks ended May 29, 2010, sales totaled $2.549 billion, a 13% increase over the $2.256 billion in sales for the 17 weeks ended May 30, 2009. Comparable store sales for the 17 weeks ended May 29, 2010 increased 8% on top of a 3% gain last year.
