Rite Aid (RAD) Reports September Same-Store Sales Increase

Rite Aid Corporation (NYSE: RAD) announced sales results for September.
For the four weeks ended September 30, 2006, same store sales rose 3.5% over the prior-year period. Pharmacy same store sales were up 4.2%, while front-end same store sales were up 2.2%.
Total drugstore sales for the four-week period rose 3.0% to $1.306 billion compared to $1.269 billion for the same period last year.
Same store sales for the 30-week period ended September 30, 2006, increased 3.7%, consisting of a 4.5% increase in pharmacy same store sales and a 2.2% increase in front-end same store sales.
For the four weeks ended September 30, 2006, same store sales rose 3.5% over the prior-year period. Pharmacy same store sales were up 4.2%, while front-end same store sales were up 2.2%.
