Rite Aid (RAD) Reports December Same-Store Sales

Rite Aid Corporation (NYSE: RAD) announced sales results for December. For the four weeks ended December 30, 2006, same store sales increased 2.6% over the like four-week period last year. Pharmacy same store sales were up 4.1% while front-end same store sales were up 0.6%.
Total drugstore sales for this four-week December period decreased 17.2% to $1.492 billion compared to $1.803 billion for last year's five-week period. Prescription revenue accounted for 58.0% of drugstore sales, and third party prescription revenue represented 95.6% of pharmacy sales.
