Rite Aid (RAD) Announces May Same-Store Sales

Rite Aid Corporation (NYSE: RAD) announced for the five weeks ended June 3, 2006, same store sales increased 4.0 percent over the prior-year period. Pharmacy same store sales increased 4.9%, while front-end same store sales were up 2.3%.
Total drugstore sales for the five-week period increased 3.4 percent to $1.680 billion compared to $1.624 billion for the same period last year. Prescription revenue accounted for 63.8 percent of drugstore sales, and third party prescription revenue represented 95.3 percent of pharmacy sales.
