McDonald's (MCD) Shares Plummet on Another Disappointing Sales Report

McDonald's Corp. (NYSE: MCD) is trading down 2.8 percent following weak global and U.S. comps.
The company said promotional activity did not offset the effects of the sluggish economy and last year's launch of the Mango Pineapple smoothie.
Shares of MCD last traded at $86.48, down 2.8 percent. They are down nearly 13 percent on the year.
- Global comps were flat, versus up 2.3% consensus.
- U.S. down 0.1%. The Street was looking for a gain of 2.2%
- Europe down 0.6%
- Asia/Pacific, Middle East and Africa down 1.5%
- Systemwide sales for the month decreased 3.2%, or increased 2.3% in constant currencies.
